Poor transport conditions and limited cold chain reduce the reach of vaccinators in the DRC. In this program, Indigo enabled vaccinators to expand their travel plans versus traditional ice-based systems and conduct vaccinations at more locations.

This program focused on vaccine availability at health facilities with limited refrigeration. In addition to extending the cold chain to facilities that are difficult to access with ice-based carriers, Indigo served as multi-day vaccine storage devices upon arrival. Health care centers using Indigo reported increased vaccine availability, more children immunized, and reduced transport time and cost.
